Shades of Pale Green
September 19, 2007
I like to wallow
in the morose…
undoubtedly,
the morose
has its own charms
I feel comfortable
there, in the trenches
away from the
maddening cheers,
and shallow celebrations
of success
Of course, i know
I’m just being facile,
the depth is just
an abyss, without end
without meaning
The comfort zones
have clipped my wings,
disinfected me with
sterile purity,
crowned me the king
of the no man’s land
If I take a refuge
in obscurity,
it’s not pride,
just cowardice…
it’s a protection,
against judgment
Yes I like to wallow
in the morose,
and let it grow
on me, like moss.
the morose, undoubtedly
has its charm

Inspired by Silo’s comment on Fair(y) Tale ? You can write in this genre even while sleep-walking..

Hi asuph,
The last three stanzas are brilliant. This dichotomy between letting all go and grasping everything is troubling. Contradictions. If there is a heaven, then it must be a place without contradictions.

This poetry so identifies with my feelings these days, which I know are transitory.
Excellent poem!

A superbly written poem expressing soft pastel colors and tones. Nice stuff. An overcast of peace and serenity
remains, after reading this work of art. Bravo! A job well done. Please stop by to read some of my poetry and tell a friend, too. Keep Sharing.
