Nonsense (A Poem)

Everybody seems to read
Rilke these days
or Neruda,
even Poe

Everyone
except for me
that is
I’ve been reading
too much of myself

Is this some
cheap, self-referential
conceited poem
you ask?

You couldn’t be wrong
I’m just observing,
my decay
into the senseless,
like a stoic, intro-punitive
and yet a cent percent
rational loser

Trust me
When words fail you
you hang on
to even the inane
oh yes, oh yes
yes you do…

    Yes I trust you :>)
I liked the term rational loser. I’m one too .. loser I mean .. rational part.. I need to find out.

    Do you really,
or do u resign yourself to a silence,
    that you couldn’t care less,
    if it never ended.

remember, if you really love them, set them free, and if they have to, they’ll come back to you.
    that’s how i console myself! 😉

and of course, I asked you to read Rilke today (had forgotten this poem)….

I think it is useful for a writer like you and me to read Rilke.
